Birthday Boys Layout

Well, this is April's layout. Jason's birthday is in April and he really didn't want to feature by himself for the whole of April, sooo lucky, Greg and Steve are also in April!! I used a white acrylic paint dabber for around the edges of the raven bazzill. I also used the paint dabber for the Grid stamp and the arrow. The chipboard alphabet was coloured with the acrylic paint as well. I stamped the roman numeral clock with Ancient page coal black and mounted it above the cutout wings to symbolize "time flying" !! The reason the photo looks reflective is that it has a piece of acetate over it. I bought, a while back, a sheet of acetate with various size frames, so I merely used this. You could,however, also use the acrylic paint dabber on some ordinary acetate/transparency and stamp your own designs to the attach over the photo. I attached the acetate with the 3mm supertape - superthin!

Enchanted family layout -January

I had a great time with this layout using the enchanted papers and pomegranate SB essentials card stock. I've used rubons, layering of circles, rhinestones, pewter brads, flowers and fine white rick rack. I've never been a rick rack fan, but I think I'm beginning to see many creative uses for it. I also used a punch for a strip of paper across the top to make it look like a notepad. To finish it off , I stapled ribbon in a wobbly manner and adhered it to the top of the page and used great stickers to make the title. Hope it inspires you just a little.

Cute Bird house workshop- great fun!!

This cute Bird house is a workshop by Jane Anne de Visser from Kaszazz. I had great fun putting it together, and popped a battery operated tealight candle in it. It looked really nice. This is one time that practicalities fly out of the window and you create, just for the sake of it!! I could also see, that if I didn't guard it with my life, my smallest possum would take it into the black hole, that is her room only to fill it with littlest petshop toys!! Damien's page

My niece, Bron has the most gorgeous kids. This is Damien who is about 18mnths now. (I think). I became inspired by some stampin up papers that I've had around for a while. I based this layout on a layout in the book 601 scrapbooking ideas - a great book. This layout was also done by Nicole, which I posted on my blog around Nov/Dec. It's interesting to see how each person interprets things. I edged all the papers with vintage photo distress ink and stuck down. I used a nestabilities die to create the corner pieces, which I had cut in half. They were edged. I punched out the flower from the circle flower paper and then punched out the inside circle so I could create a raised effect on the corners. The photo was mounted on java bazzill and rubons were used along the strip, at the edge of the photo and above the striped piece , next to the photo. I used an aged copper embellishment on the strip to write his name and year of photo.

Purple Butterfly page

I figured the time had come for me to start blogging again! Hope you all had a fantastic Festive season. For Christmas, I bought myself a scrapbooking calendar. So, I've naturally had to get to work at putting it together. I"ve done a page for January but not yet taken the photo, so it'll have to be out of sequence, sorry. This is my February page. I used Kaisercraft paper with chipboard that I picked up on my travels. On the chipboard, I used smooch to colour. I then added bling. I had to trim the paper so that I could have a purple boarder. With the left over trim, I turned it over and added it to the left side of the page and put rhinestones on it. I folded over the top right and secured with an eyelet. I added some sticky bling across the top of the photo over the torn strips and a circle of bling on the left side of the photo.Hope you enjoy!!

Pamper packs for teachers

I mentioned previously that I was making 'pamper packs' for the teachers. Well, I did! In the decorated noodle boxes that I have previously shown, I popped a face cream, lip balm and rollon oil blend - all made by me. I then made 3 beeswax candles and tied them together with raffia and leather and attached a donut crystal onto each. I also included a rolled up decorated paper that had the ingredients of all the items and how to use the rollons. I hope the teachers like them. I had lots of fun putting them together.

Mini Santa Bags

At the end of the school year, all the kids give each other cards, usually with candy canes, or choccies on them. I decided to make use of the nestabilities that my sister gave me, and make little flaps at the top over a small plastic bag. I just stamped the topper with white frost "merry christmas" and used the white gel pen for the stitching and "from..." I then stapled it over the bag which contained the choccie. The kids were really excited to take them to share. The snowflake is just a confetti shape that I was given.

Christmas treat boxes

I made these after being inspired by Maria from Stampininspirations (check out the link ). I gave these to customers who took part in a workshop in December. I popped a lindt ball in each one as a small gift. These ones are made using the merry christmas range and white mini rick rack. I also made them using the same range of paper, but the green swirl one. Both looked so cute (even if I may say so myself!). Maria has the template on her blog - I think they are called: Mini gift boxes... Anyway, give them a go because they are great for having on hand to give a little something to someone, to say "thank you" or a small "happy birthday" gesture.

Kathy's birthday card

On Sunday it's my dearest friend's birthday. We went to school together so it is a long standing friendship. I had great fun making this card. I used the cuttlebug for the daisy border and rick rack along . Now, I know I always bag rick rack, but I felt it had it's place here!! Then, I just punched out some daisies and stamped out the words in olive pastel chalk ink and stuck it all together. Simple, but I think it's quite stylish. Enjoy!

Paul's Birthday card

I'm finally here again!! Paul's birthday was last week and so I decided to make use of my cuttlebug and nestabilities. I used ivory card, java bazzill and our christmas paper(stripes). I used the vines embossing folder and the large deckle rectangle in the nestabilites. I stamped the cherish heart from the "love and cherish " stamp set onto ivory card with olive pastel fluid chalk. I also didn't have olive green grosgrain ribbon so I used the fluid chalk to ink it. Works a treat! I mounted the heart in the centre and used glossy accents on it and when it was dry, I popped on some icestickles. Add a bit of bling and tie a ribbon and the card is done!
