Tri-Fold Leaf Card

I made this card for Nicole's birthday. I was doing a workshop with the Leaf Rollagraph and then got inspired to make a card with it. She loves owls, so I simply had to put an owl on it!! This one is our newest - Oliver Owl. The piece behind the owl is a corrugated card made by Cuttlebug and then inked. The leaves were rollagraphed and then cut out and placed in a arrangement. They were coloured using the Lyra watercolour crayons and the aqua brush. The sparkles on the leaves are dew drops! You may not be able to see, but on the dark brown bazzill , I"ve sprayed gold smooch spritz. It is so beautiful in real life. If you haven't used the smooch spritz yet, you do need to give it a whirl - it just highlights your work. I finished it off with some antique embellishments and flourish bling rhinestones.

Although, I do so love a present! I was really spoiled on my birthday with many fabulous things which I really love. Thanks to all who gave me a present as well- I just loved every one...

Cherish - Funky Blooms!

This is a photo of my niece, Bron's little girl, Jasmine. I really wanted to use our new range- Funky blooms for it and had lots of fun. AS you can see, I used bling words , rubons and the butterfly punch, all Kaszazz products. The patchwork look is from a page of the blooms range. What I like about that page is that you can come up with many different card designs using one page! One of the nicest, aside from the Romance pack, card making packs, is the Funky blooms. Such great card ideas and sooo simple. We have some new flyers with new christmas stamps. Have a look at the Kaszazz website and see what's new.

Christmas In July !

Well, FINALLY I'm back from the land of nod! Amongst computer hitches and work, I'm at last back in blogland.

I ran a Christmas in July workshop with a lovely bunch of ladies on Saturday. It was a fun day. Above are the cards and beyond the page items we made. In the first picture, we did a Christmas rubons 5PQ (projects quick) . With each card , different products were used. We used gold smooch, distress tool, distress ink with blender, smooch spritz gold and emerald, jewel set- perfect pearls and gold paint dabber.

For the Beyond the page workshop, we created a bag using the scallop circle chipboards, a beautiful Christmas stocking gift card holder and a christmas cracker which could be filled with choccies!

They had all the refreshments and lunch their bodies could take and on top of that, they all won great prizes. I think they really felt like it was Christmas! Well, that was the intention anyway.

Biggest Morning Tea!

At the end of May, I hosted a Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for Cancer research in honour of my friend Trudy who lost her battle with Cancer last year. I'm pleased to announce that we raised $425 ! Everyone who came took part in a workshop and the proceeds were donated. We also had raffle prizes which were donated by myself, Kaszazz and Word of mouth. They ended up being fantastic prizes!! Above is a picture of the cards we did - they were well received and everyone had lots of fun - the most important thing!!

Owl Page n Card

The challenge from Kaszazz was to make up something using the newer Australiana stamps. I generally find these stamps a bit of a challenge, but the owl worked in this case. I used brown baz for the base paired with oatmeal and ivory in parts. The green is Parakeet baz. Most of it you can probably work out. I stamped the fern and swirl in frost white ink. The tiny butterfly is from the calendar icons stamp - it has some really cute little stamps, great for accents or highlights. I used gold smooch on the letters and added some punched daisies on the words too. I used my favourite tiny daisy punch here as well. The card is done in much the same way but with the branch stamp from the treasured memories set. With the owl, they were coloured in using the lyra crayons and the beak was smooched!

Mothers' Day Cards..

Here is a sample of some Mothers' Day cards that I came up with for a recent workshop. We also included Monica's card that you will have seen on the previous post. For these cards I used CB folders, nestabilities, punches, distress inks, blending tools and acrylic paints. There is also the touches of chalks, ancient page ink and ice stickles. It was a fun evening of creations where everyone chose what they wanted to do and adapted ideas to suit them. A creative and fun night with great people.

My next workshop coming up is on Thursday 20th/ Friday 21st May. I'm doing the "Mini Mister perfect pearls " layout. It is number 2H525 in the workshop flyer that can be found at:

Monica's card...

Monica, a talented Kaszazz consultant and guest designer of my blog made this card. I just love it!! She used white card, Java bazzill and some ribbon from her stash. She used one of the latest CB folders and then rubbed white ink over it to highlight all the embossed bits. She punched and inked the butterflies, and then highlighted them with some sticky bling flourish. She topped it off with some ribbon along the bottom. The words are from our - mini messages stamp. This range of stamps are awesome- they are so handy for every occasion.

Greg's Birthday card

This is my brother, Greg's birthday card. I began experimenting with various CB templates and then ended up tearing the images and layering them. I used the same technique as I have before- after cuttlebugging, I painted with my Lettuce paint dabber. Once dry, I sanded the raised images and then used vintage photo distress ink and my blender tool to rub in some colour.The car stamp is Kaszazz. I stamped it in Dark brown chalk ink and coloured parts of it in using an aqua brush and the distress ink. You can also stamp with distress and then blend the colour on the lines - that's the great thing about distress inks. I made a nestabilities bracket shape with brown bazzill and cut it in half to place behind the car stamp. I used antique gold paper fasteners on each side and then mounted the car and the words. The card is also edged.
It really is much more challenging to create male cards and be satisfied with how they look! Hope this has given you some ideas.
